Forgione planning for a Briggers future

With the NCEL season curtailed and rumours that there will be no relegation in any FA restructure we are pleased to confirm that Manager Luke Forgione and Assistant Manager Gareth Hunter has committed their future to the club. Although Luke has admitted that the uncertainty leaves the club in limbo whilst we wait official confirmation from the FA Council he believes that the future is bright as we look forward to season 2021/22 and hopefully an uninterrupted campaign. Luke said "I think we have got a crop of good young lads and we’re looking to add some older heads in the summer. The young lads are motivated and are striving to go higher in the game and I am sure in

NCEL Season Curtailed

It is hard to believe that in 2 years we will not have completed a league season, but it is also not unexpected that the FA have tonight confirmed that Steps 3 to 6 will be curtailed. We await further updates from the FA Council. I am sure people will be disappointed that no further NCEL games will be played pending ratification from the FA Council, but many of us will be not be surprised following the impact of Covid-19. Football is a massive part of many peoples lives, but the wider impact on businesses and families who have lost loved ones brings things into context, and ultimately it is the right decision. I am sure many people will both agree and

Fudge “sweet” on new signings

It has been a busy few days since our game away at Retford FC and I would like to welcome Mike Jepps and Owen Fieldsend to the club. Mike has been playing in the Senior Nottinghamshire Premier League for Bingham Town FC and has an impressive goalscoring record. Whatever the level, if someone knows how to put the ball in the back of the net you have to take notice, and his stats for the last few seasons shows he know how to hit the net. Although he has never played at this level, Mike is experienced and an all round athlete and someone we looking forward to seeing in the red shirt soon. Owen is another experienced player who has had

Club Statement – 30/12/2020

I am sure that by now you will be aware that today our NCEL season was suspended and will be reviewed again on the 13 January 2021. We, along with many other clubs are frustrated by a further suspension but we understand the leagues decision. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't and we just have to appreciate how difficult it is for everyone connected with Grassroots football at this present time. At a high level we want to make sure everyone is aware that our club will survive this, however we wouldn’t have done so if it had not been for everyone’s support, our sponsors and the fantastic efforts of our fans. We appreciate the efforts

Wildblood Becomes a Brigger as Squad Continues to Take Shape.

Owen Wildblood

Fudge's squad continues to take shape as the Briggers signed another impressive youngster today, Ex-Hemsworth MWFC, Owen Wildblood. Manager Luke Forgione had this to say about our latest acquisition Owen is a player who can play several positions, which is always important for the balance of the team. However he is looking to nail a position down after a few years of non league experience, he is searching for regular game time. Owen has the potential to play at very good level, he has the skill set to do this, technically very good and a nasty streak, he knows a lot of the group already and fits well within our changing room. Having worked with him at Barnsley College, we have a

Winterton Preview

On Saturday afternoon the Briggers take to the pitch in another away fixture at Winterton Rangers who will look to bounce back after their 2-1 loss away to New Mills in FA Vase Second Round of Qualifying.
