Toolstation NCEL New Season Message

Toolstation NCEL New Season Message

As we approach the start of another NCEL season, one which will start with all teams feeling optimistic about what is ahead, it will be a long and challenging season with many ups and downs along the way but we are looking forward to the battle ahead, it promises to even more competitive than the last!

As we look to a new season we are pleased with our recruitment and look forward to the new and retained players excelling in the red Briggers shirt, they certainly have the talent and during pre-season have worked incredibly hard during the hot weather (and more recently in the wet weather) and all have fitted in well and done what has been asked of them. We were also pleased that our manager Luke Forgione agreed to continue with the project, it was well documented that last season was at times tough, but we rode out the storm, and the criticism from some quarters to finish well outside the “relegation” places.

The one think I can always promise is that the players will give their best for the shirt. I am fortunate to spend time with them, both during pre-season and throughout the league season, and I know what a good group of lads Luke has assembled, and I know how much they value your support and encouragement.

We were delighted that Tony McDonald agreed to become our ground sponsor this summer, his support has been and remains invaluable and we are excited that for the next 3 years we will be welcoming supporters to The Totally Training Stadium.

Despite the rising costs behind the scenes, including rent, pitch maintenance, utilities, food prices we have remained committed to giving value for money, and for the 5th season running we have kept our admission prices frozen. We have been pleased, that despite the financial challenges supporters have continued to follow the club in good numbers and our average gate has remained over 100+ for the last 2 seasons.

It is important that a community club like ours remains affordable and even before a ball is kicked, I want to thank everyone for their support, it makes such a difference to the players and the club.

We look forward to the new season, as we always do with optimism, and I hope that you join us on the journey in what is our 41st consecutive season in the Northern Counties East League.

Enjoy the season ahead, it will be the usual roller-coaster of emotions, but that is why we love the game, and keeps us coming back season after season for more.
