Worsbrough 3-2 Clipstone

Despite conceding a goal in the 1st minute Worsbrough worked hard and came back to win 3-2 we got the thoughts of Manager Luke Forgione I think it's fair to say that today was a game of two halves. We simply wasn't good enough in the first half for the standards we have set as a group. From the first minute we gave away a sloppy goal and then to be caught from our own corner to concede a second, summed up a disappointing first half which Clipstone had a strong foothold through a system that caused difficulties for us. A few changes at half time and a tactical switch helped us to gain more control of the second half paid

Fudge’s thought’s post Armthorpe

We sat down with Fudge after last weekends victory against Armthorpe Welfare The most pleasing thing about the game was after a few difficult games and losses the group responded brilliantly. Too a man, I thought the boys took board what was asked and executed the game plan brilliantly. We looked at the last few games and our previous games and decided to change a few things and all the credit goes to the boys, they deserved the 3 points. It's always nice to win, after the heavy results we have suffered recently, i an more than pleased for all associated. It has been difficult after a great start to suffer two heavy league defeats in difficult circumstances. But these aren't

Ollerton Town 2-0 The Briggers

Worsbrough fell to the 2nd defeat in 7 days at the hands of Ollerton Town with goals from Benjamin Partridge and Samuel Geeves handing them the victory. Worsbrough have taken 19 points from a potential 27 and although defeat hurts, with a young squad we can only take heart. Worsbrough's next game is the 21'st against Selby Town at The Pinto Property Stadium #backthebriggers

Worsbrough Bridge 1-2 Maine Road

Worsbrough Bridge AFC bowed out of the Fa Vase at the hands of Maine Road FC this afternoon. A opening goal from Ben Mooney handed the visitors a lead in the 24th minute before Michael Jepps equalised for The Briggers. The game looked as though it was heading to penalties before Euan Melia scored in the 92nd minute to give the Mancunians a 2nd qualifying round tie away at Goole Worsbrough now turn their attention to an away game at Ollerton Town on Saturday 18th September https://youtu.be/EzQYo9JcRIQ

Jimmy Pursell Debut Strike earns Worsbrough All 3 Points at Dronfield.

We spoke to Manager Luke Forgione after the 1-0 victory Against Dronfield Town. Jimmy Pursell scored in the 20th minute on his full debut for the club to return the 3 points to the Pinto Property Stadium. Luke had this to say: After highlighting our slow starts on the road, today was totally different. From the first whistle we started well and we was on the front creating a couple of good chances which could of been taken. After some great play, Jimmy, calmly slotted home on the 20th minute mark with a nicely taken goal. Thereafter, the game intensity dropped, in warm conditions. We had some good passages of play with Dronfield being a handful from set pieces as we continued

View from the Boss

It was a difficult afternoon for the Briggers away at Retford FC, the day ended in a 3-1 away defeat. We caught up with the Briggers boss Luke Forgione after the match. We started the game slowly and this continued throughout the first half with Retford controlling the game and to be fair in that first period we weren't at the races.Ross (Pritchard) made a couple of good saves that kept us in the game, and although we had a couple of good passages of play which lead to a couple of half chance opportunities we were second best. The pitch was difficult and it made it hard for us and we found it hard to adjust, but in fairness

Worsbrough bridge Ladies 3-0 Wickersley

+3 points! Today saw us get our first win, and first 3 points after a difficult start to the season. From the outset, we were determined to get the win, especially given last night’s announcement. We hosted an evenly matched Wickersely side who already had 1 point on the board coming into the game. We played excellently throughout, working hard for each other and fulfilling our individual roles well. The first half saw us take charge of the game, and despite missing a few chances, we finished 1-0 up through Lucy Tindle, with some work to do to secure the win. We started the second half the same as we finished the first, having lots of possession and putting pressure on our opponents. The

Gaffers thought’s post Dronfield

We sat down with Luke straight after the match against Dronfield I've got to be careful what I say but I thought the officials was poor but we were also poor all over the pitch, we got what we deserved and they were the better team we weren't at the races. We had spoken about playing to the levels we had against Emley but it looked like a whole different team tonight I'm dissappointed. The first 10 minutes we were really slow did you expect that?No not really, we discussed in the changing room about not being complacent and we mentioned that Dronfield's results were probably a little false. They have played the top teams and they will make it

Worsbrough Ladies 0 Worksop Womens Dev 4

it was another disapointing game on Sunday as the ladies lost 4-0 to visitors SJR Worksop Womens Development. The scoreline does not reflect the ladies performance as they improved massively on last weeks loss, being the better and more dominate side for the majority of the match. However, Worksop took there chances in front of goal and took all 3 points in the Briggers second loss of the season. We look forward to next Sunday's fixture against Sheffield Wednesday as we continue to search for 3 points
