With last season finishing earlier than usual and with the fantastic support we have received from followers of the club we have some fantastic news that we hope will show our appreciation of the loyalty of people who support our club. We have been overwhelmed with the fundraising support offered to us by everyone and although we continue to try and raise much needed funds we are in a position to announced the following for season 2020/21. * Matchday admission prices will be frozen for the 3rd year running. 1st team games will remain £5 for adults, £3 concessions, with U21's and U19's game remaining at £3 adults and £1 concessions. Briggers U13’s are League Champions
It has been confirmed today that our Worsbrough Bridge AFC U13's have been named League Champions after the the SDJSL calculated the leagues under the Points Per Game System following the cancellation of the season due to Covid-19. The Junior Briggers won 10 of their 11 games played and drew the other game and didn't lose a league game during the 2019/20 season. The league win was well deserved continuing great performances in recent seasons which has seen the team go unbeaten at home for 3 seasons. Sport England to help Worsbrough Bridge AFC during current COVID-19 pandemic Worsbrough Bridge AFC have been awarded valuable financial support of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Emergency Fund towards running costs for the club during the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The outbreak of the virus and the consequent shutdown of businesses as of March 23 has left the sport and physical activity sector facing a period of uncertainty. In response, on March 31 Sport England announced a £195m package to help the sport and physical activity sector through covid-19. We are pleased to announce that starting from this pre-season we will play our Barnsley neighbours Athersley Recreation FC in an annual game for the NHS Cup. The game has been agreed by both managers, Lee Morris and Shane Kelsey and endorsed by both clubs committees.
