It has been confirmed today that our Worsbrough Bridge AFC U13’s have been named League Champions after the the SDJSL calculated the leagues under the Points Per Game System following the cancellation of the season due to Covid-19.
The Junior Briggers won 10 of their 11 games played and drew the other game and didn’t lose a league game during the 2019/20 season. The league win was well deserved continuing great performances in recent seasons which has seen the team go unbeaten at home for 3 seasons.
We caught up with the U13’s Manager Jason Watkin on today’s news:
“Winning the league is reward for the hard work done by everyone, players, parents and coaching team and has been backed up by support from the club. This season stretched our unbeaten home run to 3 years which is a fantastic achievement and I want to thank Sean Crowcroft and Jack Whitehouse for their support and help in making this possible.
We have exciting times ahead and will back into training as soon as it is safe to do so and I want everyone to stay safe during these difficult times.
Well done to all the players, we will make sure we celebrate together as soon as we can”
