Pettinger joins Briggers
We are delighted to announce that Paul Pettinger will join Lee Morris management team for the 2020/21 season. Having played for Leeds United, Rotherham United, Lincoln City, Torquay United, Kettering Town, Harrogate Town and Stalybridge Celtic, Paul will bring a wealth of experience to the club and help on the defensive side of the game. With planning for next season underway both on and off the pitch we caught up with the Briggers boss Lee Morris following yesterday's announcement that player-coach Joe Thornton was returning to Handsworth FC for an update. LM - Its a great opportunity for Joe at a club he knows well so it was wasn't a big shock. It was disappointing as Joe has been great for the club on and off the pitch. FA Council Ratify Decision to Expunge 2019/20
The FA Council yesterday ratified the decision to expunge the 2019/20 season at steps 3 to 7. After the initial announcement no-one can be surprised that the decision was ratified. Like most clubs the financial impacts will be felt by our club. We also feel for the managers, coaches, players, supporters, sponsors and volunteers who gave time, effort and money to the club and will feel disappointed, frustrated, angry at the decision. We have to move on. For some clubs they will feel the need to look at taking other steps and each club are entitled to deal with this however they feel is right. For Worsbrough Bridge AFC our efforts will be focused on the future and that means working even harder
Quick Club Update
On behalf of everyone at Worsbrough Bridge I want to start the update by asking all our followers and supporters to continue to stay safe and well. I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on the clubs current position and let everyone know what is happening. We are preparing behind the scenes for next season and that includes how we will look as a club both on and off the pitch. We are working with the various leagues and the County FA, as well as with funding bodies, local councillors and our Member of Parliament to make sure that our club remains at the heart of the Worsbrough Community.
