We caught up with debutant and 2 goal scorer Luke Francis after the match against Skegness Town

So what was your week like leading up to last nights game?

I was buzzing to be told I was going to be involved in the game. I had been off isolating so I was just getting myself ready to play just making sure I was prepped, but I couldn’t wait to get out there and play

What happened in regarding to game being called off then back on?

I’m not too sure myself I think the club called the game off when it was belting it down which at the time sempt the right decision. But Skegness demanded for the pitch to be inspected and the ref said it was playable. So we went out there and executed our game plan too a T and came out with the 3 points.

Luke said he wanted you lot to get in there faces from the kick off was that the plan ?

Yes definitely I think it worked well too. They are tipped to be up near the top all year so I think it was important for us to take the game to them and I think we did that last night and the result reflects that. It’s early days with new players that have come in so the more time we spend together/play together we’re only going to improve as a team.

What is it like to get 1st 3 points on board against a team thats one of the favourites for title?

It’s a great feeling, I think last night was important for the team and for the club. To get a result like that in front of our supporters was class for the gaffer and the lads too. If we continue to play the way we did last night and get momentum we will do well this year. We aim to make the Pinto Property Stadium a fortress and to make it very hard for teams to pick up points here.
