Rallying cry from the Chairman

Rallying cry from the Chairman

With the season coming to it’s final few games I am calling on our supporters to come down and back the team in their final 4 home games of the season.

We are sitting in 9th place in the NCEL Division 1 and have back to back home games against Retford FC (Tues 15th), Shirebrook Town (Saturday 19th), Swallownest (Tuesday 22nd) and Rossington Main (Saturday 2nd April) to play at The Pinto Property Stadium, where we have seen plenty of goals, some memorable wins and some fantastic comebacks.

Remember our admission prices are just £5 for adults, £3 concessions and U16’s are FREE.

It has been a tough time for all Non League clubs due to the global pandemic, and this looks like being the first full season to complete since 2019.

It has been a season of change and progress on the field with an exciting and talented group of players with an average age of just 20 years, led by Luke Forgione, who has done a brilliant job in his first full season, with the team winning 15+ games for only the 10th time in 40 years and we have played so excellent football.

With just 4 games to go against some very good teams it would be great to see as many people as possible supporting the team, I know how much they thrive on a good atmosphere at our home games. We have had truly amazing support this season, with the 7th best average in the league, averaging more than 130 supporters each game over the course of the season and we want to finish off with more great attendances and support.

So whether you come and support the Briggers on a regular basis or if you just fancy coming to see what it is all about, we would love to see you down “Backing the Briggers”.

I am genuinely proud of all our players and management team but also thankful to everyone that has supported the club. I look forward to us finishing the season well and seeing people enjoying the remaining games.

Best Wishes,

Mark Booth, WBAFC Chairman
