We are pleased to confirm that we have today completed the signing of Aidan Smith from Selby Town. The signing further bolsters the Briggers squad for the second half of the season and adds further quality to the talented group of players at the club.

Briggers boss Luke Forgione had the following to say on the new signing, “We are pleased to welcome Aidan to the club. He is another talented young player who fits into our recruitment strategy. We believe we now have two of the best young goalkeepers in the league on their day.

Both Aidan and Ross (Pritchard) will be competing for the number 1 jersey at the club and I am sure both lads will be pushing to be the number 1 keeper for the club. I am confident this signing will help Ross and Aidan in their development.

It is a sign of how far we have come as a club that we can now get players from clubs such as Selby Town to come and play their football at Worsbrough Bridge AFC.”

Smith joins the Briggers with NCEL experience under his belt after spells at Goole AFC, Armthorpe Welfare, FC Humber and Selby Town.

We want to welcome Aidan to the club and wish him good luck and also thank Selby Town for their support with the transfer.
