With Coronavirus now impacting the club’s fixtures and after 2 severe floods this season we just wanted to reflect on what overall has been a positive campaign to date and to ask supporters to come back and support us in the final few weeks of the season when the suspension is lifted.
• 1st team reaching the Semi-Final of the Sheffield Senior Cup.
• Match day attendances up by more than 50% from last season.
• Fantastic financial backing from sponsors old and new.
• Brand new U21s team in the Worksop Van Hire Development league sitting 2nd and still in the latter stages of the cup.
• U19s top of the Northern Alliance League with a set off new exciting young players for the future.
• Brand new U17s competing in A Division after taking some time to settle but now looking up the league table.
• Ladies team sitting joint 3rd in the League with a real chance of a top 2 finish.
• U13s sitting top of their League with a real opportunity of promotion.
• Our U10s team through to the Semi Final of the Cup and doing well in their League.
• A long term ground lease agreed in principle for the next 25 years with our landlord Worsbrough Sports Development Association providing the club with long term security and opportunity for funding.
• Debt free.
• New Toilets, 1st Aid Room and improvements to the Pinto Property Stadium stand.
• Positive relationships with Reds in the Community, Barnsley College Sports Academy, Barnsley Hospital Charity and Barnsley Samaritans.
The abysmal weather and other issues outside of our control have made it hard at times but the positives on and off the pitch outweigh any negatives.
Thanks to every player, manager, coach, sponsor, supporter, parent and volunteer.
Let’s finish the season even stronger than we started and remind everyone that we are more than just a club. #daretodream
