Chairman Reflects on our 100th Year

As the dust settles on a year of celebrating 100 years of football in Worsbrough we want to take a few minutes to thank everyone that has made it happen.

A massive thanks to all those people that over the last 100 years have dedicated their time as volunteers, managers & players – we are only celebrating this milestone because of their hardwork.

As we look back on the last year, we can be proud of how we have recognised this achievement.

I want to thank former Barnsley Mayor Sarah Tattersall for her support right from our visit to Germany last summer through to last night and also thank the Barnsley Twinning Society for making it happen. Alan & Karin Brentnall worked tirelessly to support us. I also need to thank Deputy Mayor John Clarke, Councillor Roy Bowser & Councillor Jake Lodge Worsbrough Independent for their help & support.

We have many memories to look back on with pride & thanks must go to Danny Wilson for his support as well as the NCEL and Worsbrough Sports & Development Association

Our thanks to our fantastic sponsors, AA Construction Support Solutions & Monotones along with the many others who have contributed in the last 12 months.

And finally & most importantly thanks to our supporters, who week in week out, through rain & shine pay their hard earned money to support the club & also to Luke ‘fudge’ Forgione, James Ritchie & every member of the support staff & players who have done everything we have asked of them in the last year.

I hope in years to come everyone involved will look back with pride & fond memories of being part of a very special year for Worsbrough Bridge AFC.

We now look forward to our 41st consecutive NCEL season, where the real business starts & I know as a Community and fan base you will continue to #BackTheBriggers.
