Player Interview – Maxim Hague

Player Interview – Maxim Hague

Our over-worked reporter Gav Frost has been busy again, in the latest of our player interviews we caught up with our defender Maxim Hague.

GF – So far this season you have made 14 appearances for the 1st team, how do you feel you have performed?

MH – After making 14 appearances so far, I feel like I have developed as it’s helped me to understand my role and helped me to understand the league even more and in particular the style of play and quality of players in the league. I think I started the season brightly and have recently had some good and bad performances. My goal for the rest of the season is to try and be more consistent in my performances.

GF – There have been occasions that the back four has been changed due to player availability, injuries and suspensions. Can that be difficult at times when you are trying to work together as a defensive unit?

MH – It can definitely make things harder when trying to work on relationships on the pitch, there are no real excuses. At the end of the day we are all defenders and no matter who is next to you we all have a job to do.

GF – Recently the gaffer added the experienced Luke Danville into the back four, what is it like having an experienced NCEL head to help guide you through the matches?

MH – It has been a massive boost and helps the rest of the lads as he has brought in experience and quality and helps us to try and make better decisions, manage games and spells in games better.

GF – What do you hope will happen for yourself and the team for the rest of the season?

MH – I am hoping that after our bright start to the season we can keep developing and learning as a team and we can keep putting in good performances, picking up points. There is no telling where this season can go for us.

Many thanks to Maxim for taking the time to speak to us, good luck for the rest of the season.
