Despite conceding a goal in the 1st minute Worsbrough worked hard and came back to win 3-2 we got the thoughts of Manager Luke Forgione
I think it’s fair to say that today was a game of two halves. We simply wasn’t good enough in the first half for the standards we have set as a group. From the first minute we gave away a sloppy goal and then to be caught from our own corner to concede a second, summed up a disappointing first half which Clipstone had a strong foothold through a system that caused difficulties for us. A few changes at half time and a tactical switch helped us to gain more control of the second half paid dividends. However, essentially the boys began to up the work rate, run more, press more, win more firsts and seconds, which allowed momentum and pressure to grow and we got our rewards. As a group we know we have goals in the squad, we have game changers on the bench and today it was someone else’s opportunity to grab the headlines. Moving forward we know if your not at it, in this league you will be punished. Credit to the boys for showing character and turning the game around. Sometimes you have to find a way to win games when your not fully at it and today we did that.
