Jimmy Pursell Debut Strike earns Worsbrough All 3 Points at Dronfield.

We spoke to Manager Luke Forgione after the 1-0 victory Against Dronfield Town. Jimmy Pursell scored in the 20th minute on his full debut for the club to return the 3 points to the Pinto Property Stadium.

Luke had this to say:

After highlighting our slow starts on the road, today was totally different. From the first whistle we started well and we was on the front creating a couple of good chances which could of been taken. After some great play, Jimmy, calmly slotted home on the 20th minute mark with a nicely taken goal. Thereafter, the game intensity dropped, in warm conditions. We had some good passages of play with Dronfield being a handful from set pieces as we continued to search for the second goal, which remained elusive.

The second half was a frustrating affair, with Dronfield playing more direct asking questions of our make shift back line. Dronfield were picking up more first and seconds which gave them some impetus. Both teams lacked real quality in the final 3rd at times today, with the lion share of the chances going to ourselves, we just couldn’t get the second goal. With that goal being elusive, Dronfield remained in the game.

Pritchard made a great save from a free kick near the end, while we wasted a couple more chances or opportunities in the final 3rd again with poor quality, decision making, or execution. Not a great game and not out best performance. However, a pleasing end to a difficult month as we move onto September and look to continue the good results.

Briggers next game is on the 7th September 7.45pm against Glasshoughton Welfare at The Pinto Property Stadium we hope to see you there.
