East Hull 2-2 Worsbrough Bridge

East Hull 2-2 Worsbrough Bridge

Worsbrough got there first point on the board in the creditable comeback against East Hull goals from Sam Agar and debutant Ben Donoghue ensured a share of the spoils came back to South Yorkshire

We spoke to Debutant Ben Donoghue after the full time whistle

You played under Luke before at Houghton Main what did Luke say to you about joining Worsbrough?

when Luke got the job he rang me up and asked if I would like to sign for them, I agreed straight away because I knew he was a good manager because I’d played for him before. So it was a no brainer

Was the step up a concern for you or were you just wanting to prove yourself?

It wasn’t a concern but I was obviously nervous, however I think nerves are good before a game. But the main thing was I just wanted to prove myself and take the opportunity

So you joined a team that hadn’t got a point before today was that a bit of a surprise?

It was a bit considering how good the lads are but I’d watched 2 of there games before and knew some results didn’t reflect the performance so it didn’t bother me at all Cos I knew it was a class club

What did the Luke say to the lads after going one nil down at half time ?

At half time he said that we were still in the game as we had the better chances in the first half, we just conceded from a mistake. He made it clear it was important not to let our heads drop and make sure we got something from the game

How did you feel then getting equalizing goal And securing 1st point of season ?

I was very happy scoring my first goal but at the time I just wanted to push for a winner because I knew it was there for the taking. However it is good to get out first point on the board

You can watch Ben and the rest of the team on Tuesday 13th October 7.45pm kick off in there game against Skegness Town you can purchase your tickets here.
