U21’s Update

Following last nights impressive 5-1 against Gainsborough Trinity U21’s, Manager Jimmy Whitehead notified the club of his intention to step down with immediate effect.

The win last night was the first of the current campaign after a draw against Swallownest and defeat against Handsworth.

Jimmy was instrumental in the set up of the U21’s after we decided to disband our reserves team and has been responsible for helping to bring through a number of players to our 1st team, namely Dominic Claxton(now at Pontefract Collieries), Luke Mcginnell (Penistone Church). Jimmy was also successful bringing through Steve Simpson, Ellis Pickard, Finn Morgan and Callum Turner towards their own 1st team debuts in the last 12 months.

We are disappointed that Jimmy has decided to make this decision but want to place on record our thanks to him and Joe Bedford for their hardwork during the last 12 months in helping us to establish a U21’s team. We wish both Jimmy and Joe the best of luck in their future roles.
